Unfortunately, if your older saves are corrupted or nowhere to be found, you'll have to rely on either looking up Face Codes online and hoping you'll find something resembling your old character or go through the character creation process once again. You'll notice a Code section at the bottom of the Facial Customization menu, which is where you need to enter the long string of numbers and letters. Once you have your Face Code, start Mass Effect Legendary Edition and get to the Character Creation screen. Instead, you'll need to import it into Mass Effect 2 first and get it from the sequel's Squad screen. If you want to import a Face Code from the original Mass Effect into the Legendary Edition, you sadly cannot do so directly. Look for a long string of letters and numbers separated by full stops. You can then get your character's Face Code from the Squad screen. If it's stored in the cloud, you don't need to worry about any extra steps. If you've kept it on a separate drive or in a dedicated folder, safe from prying eyes, just add it to the game's save folder. In the case of Mass Effect 2 and 3, all you need to do is install the original versions and check if your save is still intact.
